Prayer Requests

“You did WHAT?” That’s been the calmest reaction we’ve had as we’ve shared that on July 4th we turned our air conditioners off in preparation for traveling to Cuba next week. 

       “But there’s a heat wave!”

       We know.

       “You’ll be miserable!”

We’ll be adjusted to the climate in Cuba, which in July resembles this heat wave.  And we much prefer for our bodies to adjust here so that we can get on with ministry there!

That momentous switching off has really begun the all out preparations—we have prayed and translated and modified and shaped a program for the two camps we’ll do there and prepared ourselves and our team as much as possible for what we’ll be doing.  Now it’s a matter of packing, back-ups of all resources, and packing the puppets and essentials in a way that will get us there with all we need.

 We thank you for your prayers and ask for specific prayer for the following:

• Our team:  CliffAnn Perry, Fay Nelson, Neil and Amanda Songer, Larry Jones, and Eliezer Mejia.
• Our health:  that we leave healthy (I am battling a viral flu-like bug) and our stamina in the heat and health and energy throughout the time..
• Provision:  Costs have escalated daily, also our at home budget needs propping up especially while we’re gone.
• Anointing:  We are going trusting God, carrying the materials we believe He has directed us to take, and through the generosity of several churches and are taking materials and resources.
• Programs:  We do a 3 day camp for 120 children, have a changeover day, and then do a camp f o 150 children.  We will also participate in training sessions and then spend 3 days recording materials in Spanish both for us and our Cuban hosts.
• Ears-to-hear:  What God is saying and also to understand the Spanish as we share with hosts.  For Eliezer as he translates for our team and our Cuban translators as well.
• US Staff and volunteers as they keep things running here.

Our hearts’ desires are to bless those with whom we minister and to whom we minister.  This is an awesome time for the church around the world to be strengthened and  discipled and we feel privileged to contribute on this mission.
